5. Can you provide gluten free, vegetarian options?
Yes. You simply tell the staff at the first meal and they will prepare the correct diet for you. Vegan options are not as easily provided. You will have to ask for extra vegies.
6. What type of meditation ? And if I am a beginner is this right for me ?
You do not need previous experience with meditation. We lead Heartfullness Meditation or Heart based meditation. We guide everyone to rest in the love, peace and gentleness found in the heart and to simply receive it. Here we can be open to the peace of Assisi. We are practicing being present with an open heart and just feeling the presence of Assisi.
Meditation is guided for 5-10 minutes and then we sit in silence. Meditations are 30-45 minutes 2 times a day in the Retreat Center, with 20 minute meditations at the sacred sites.
Our Meditation room is open all day to our guests.

7. What sites do we visit And how long are the walks ?
We visit the main historical sites of Assisi including the Birthplace and Tomb of St Francis, Eremo, San Damiano and many many more. We are located in the very center of the old city 100 meters from Piazza Comune. Most walks are very gentle lasting from 20-30 minutes. There are some longer walks from 1-1.5 hours. We provide a taxi for those who wish as part of the retreat cost.
8. Are you Catholic ?
Our retreats are universal and non-demoninational. Guests that attend are from all backgrounds. All faiths come to Assisi to feel the powerful energy of peace here. If you are Catholic you can attend Mass almost any hour, due to all the cathedrals, chapels and churches. In December of 2001 Bruce & Ruth Davis and Assisi Retreats received a Papal blessing from Pope John Paul II for their ecumenical work.
9. How can I prepare for the retreat ?
Your retreat can begin now. We have several books, written by Bruce Davis PhD, that have been inspired by his many years of living in Assisi.
- The Love Letters of St. Francis and St. Clare,
- Simple Peace-The Spiritual life of St. Francis of Assisi
- Monastery Without Walls
