How to get to Assisi

Please let us know if we can answer any travel questions.
We want your journey to be easy and enjoyable.  We help you step by step as needed.
We recommend giving yourself a few days on either end of the retreat to enjoy Italy and relax.
Flying In to

PERUGIA ~ ASSISI AIRPORT (PEG)
This is a small regional airport serving inter-European flights.  It is only a 15 minute taxi ride from the center of Assisi.  Let us know you are arriving here and we will pre-order taxi service for you.  (45 Euro)

ROME FIUMICINO (FCO) INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Train: There is a train station inside the airport.  Buy your round trip tickets to Assisi here.   It takes about 3.50 hours to get from the airport to Assisi, with stops & changes.  This airport train shuttles you (about 35 minutes) to the main Temini train station in central Rome. Once you arrive at Rome Termini you will change trains. Cost: 45 Euro round trip (approximately) TRAVEL TIP: Make sure you "stamp" your ticket at the yellow validation machines located near the train tracks or you could get a fine on the train.

Arrival at Assisi train station:

Going directly to Assisi:  The train station is located in the Valley under the ancient hill town of Assisi.  To get up into the city you can take any taxi (approx 10 minutes - 20 Euro) or public bus (approx 1 Euro).  Bus tickets are purchased in the Newspaper stand inside the train station.

Helpful train website: www.Bahn.de  Search criteria from Rome FCO: Aeroporto Fiumicino > Assisi  Try to chose the schedule with the fewest changes !!! (chg) If you need any help please feel free to ask us. If you are arriving in Rome on the first day of the retreat we suggest arriving by 11:30 am so that you have enough time to leisurely get to Assisi. Likewise if you want to leave Rome on the last day of the retreat we suggest choosing a flight that leaves at 4 or 5 pm.

Private Van / Direct Airport Transfer: (offer good only for retreat participants)
If you have reserved a retreat with us we can arrange for a private driver to pick you up directly from the airport.  It takes 2 hours, with a private car, to reach Assisi. Cost: 270. Euro
